Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, and railways Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all the engineering branches. It is the branch with lot of diversity right from structural to transportation engineering, environmental to hydrology to hydraulics engineering, geology to Geo-technology to earthquake engineering; Civil Engineering can be considered as a single largest branch among all the engineering branches. Being one of the primary Engineering Departments of the Institute, the Department of Civil Engineering offers B. Tech in Civil Engineering.

Mission

1. To serve the nation by achieving excellence in technology, innovation, and research while upholding ethics and to be recognized as premium Civil Engineering Department in the region.

2. To establish collaborative partnerships with academic, research and industrial entities to provide a knowledge base for existing and emerging technologies to enhance the skills innovativeness, management skills and lifelong learning in civil engineering students.

3. To instil creativity and environmentally friendly, sustainable building practises in the brains of aspiring civil engineers to meet ever-evolving challenges.

4. To impart soft skills, leadership traits and professional ethics among the civil engineering students to handle projects independently.

5. To deal with the contemporary issues and to cater to the societal needs.
